Historic Trinity Lutheran Church

Since 1850, the Historic Trinity Lutheran Church has brought thousands of worshippers together to serve the Lord and the people of Detroit. Located on Larned Street in downtown Detroit, this church is a designated historical site – locally and nationally. Their main goal is helping congregants experience personal & spiritual growth.

Historic Trinity Lutheran Church

Our Challenge

The Historic Trinity Lutheran Church's Reverend Darryl Lee Andrzejewski approached TM with a new vision for their website. They were not pleased with the style or functionality of their old website. Pain points included too much whitespace, a cumbersome/dated design, numerous menu-level tabs, and difficult usage by visitors.

We knew that this was a very unique opportunity to make a large impact on an important part of the Detroit community. Our mission was to create a brand new website, organize their extensive history, and use the church's architectural beauty as the design inspiration behind the build. Also, the team at Historic Trinity requested training on how to manage and update their new site with the various sermons and events they have every week.

  • Showcase Historic Trinity's architecture
  • Organize the church's 167-year history on the website
  • Train the Historic Trinity team on how to update the website
  • Highlighted all important architectural elements visually and verbally
  • Helped Historic Trinity organize & edit website content
  • Created multiple custom integrations for virtual tours and donations

Our Solution

TM joyfully got to work taking photos on-site of the beautiful stained glass, murals, architecture, historic artifacts, and parishioners' smiling faces, while designing a 30-page WordPress website.

The architecture of Historic Trinity is a huge part of the church's rich history, with the most important aspects detailed online for easy reading access and understanding. From artisans and artifacts to stone carvings and their Skinner Opus 808 organ, Historic Trinity truly left no stone unturned online.

To spread their ministry message, TM's copywriting team helped Historic Trinity edit their History and About Us sections. We ensured their What We Believe sections were in tip-top shape. Also, the new website incorporated clearly-labeled menu tabs to help website visitors navigate to the information they were looking for.

The new Historic Trinity Lutheran Church website needed a way to showcase weekly events. TM installed a custom Events plugin, which allows the Historic Trinity team to create and post worship services, classes, and events with ease.

We installed multiple integrations to help website visitors interact with the church virtually. A virtual tour of Historic Trinity helps website visitors see the church in real time before stepping foot into its four walls. Since donations are so important to the work that Historic Trinity is able to do throughout the Detroit area, TM also created an integration with eservicepayments.com. It's now easy for generous individuals to donate, or even pay for their wedding services, online.

It was our pleasure to work with Historic Trinity and feel very blessed that they chose us for their project. We hope that their congregation enjoys the website for many years to come!

This Week's Sermon

Each week, Historic Trinity can upload their latest sermon in the "This Week's Sermon" section. Whether parishioners were able to attend in person, or they could only celebrate the life of Jesus from their homes, all can hear and read the most recent sermons at any time through the Historic Trinity website.

Ways You Can Give

Since prayerful and financial gifts at Historic Trinity makes a huge impact on their capacity to connect with the world, TM created an integration that makes it easy for individuals to donate online.

Bridging Old World & New Through Design

TM bridged the traditional and modern with the use of solid colors mixed with texture and vivid imagery of the church itself. The result was as spectacular as we hoped for!
