Trademark is proud to announce that we were selected by Wayne State University’s Department of Neurology to collaborate on building website designed and developed exclusively for African Americans with MS.
The project is part of the Wayne State University Department of Neurology’s ongoing efforts to raise awareness and disseminate information about Multiple Sclerosis (MS) within the African American community. Key to this initiative is a dynamic website that will serve as an information hub. Trademark will develop a website to serve as a centralized, easy-to-use and informational asset on their initiatives to provide support to African Americans with MS.
Recognized nationally and internationally for its patient care and cutting edge research, the Detroit Medical Center Multiple Sclerosis Clinic was founded by Omar A. Khan, M.D., and is one of the five largest MS Clinics in the United States. The center provides care to over 3,000 MS patients from all parts of Michigan as well as Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, and Florida. They also dedicate time and considerable research efforts to investigate the role of genetics and treatment of African American MS patients, with a special interest in pediatric MS.
“Access to information is critical and building this website will help facilitate further treatment, education and research possibilities for the African American community directly effected by MS as well as others,” stated Trademark CEO Dwight Zahringer.
A chronic disease of the central nervous system, MS affects mostly young people between the ages of 15 and 45 years old and preliminary studies have shown effects of the disease may affect African Americans more seriously. The forthcoming website will be the first designed and developed exclusively for African Americans with MS. Learn more about Multiple Sclerosis HERE.
