There’s no secret that when it comes to SEO, your keywords are a pretty important aspect. I mean, they are what people and search engines use to find your site – right? They’re used for your page titles, descriptions, header tags, content, anchor text etc. Let’s face it, when it comes to SEO and getting your page found, keywords are everything.
There are a number of ways you can help improve your rankings for your targeted keywords. Considering the search engines look so highly on keywords and they are what users are used to find your site, they have to be used correctly. The best way to help increase your rank for keywords is to make sure you load your pages with as many keywords as possible, true or false?
This is known as keyword stuffing and Google, along with the other search engines, look at this as a big no-no!
But I thought search engines love keywords. Why don’t they like keyword stuffing? Well, they do love keywords, but what they don’t love is trying to be tricked. Search engines have intricate logarithms that are used to determine the rank of your page. While keywords play a big part in the ranking factors, keyword stuffing looks unnatural to the search engines. They recognize this as a black hat technique and could flag your site as spam.
