Q: Keywords in a domain name help with SEO, true or false?

A: We get asked this all the time. Matt Cutts of Google states that they do help in some way to your overall SEO score. There are mixed reviews from many in Webmaster World and SEO Round Table. My opinion tests have confirmed that the more generic laden you can stay with keywords in your domain the better. I have seen examples of keyword laden URL’s that outrank competitors with larger, more legit back link profiles. So to answer – yes try to get popular keywords in your domain names.
