The idea for Trademark Productions, Inc. was born over 14 years ago as a simple side-business aimed at servicing the music and graphic art industries. Dwight Zahringer, Trademark's founder and President, was studying Graphic and Commercial Art along with Desktop Publishing when the opportunity to expand into music and entertainment marketing presented itself.
Trademark spent the next few years promoting major music acts such as Moby, Britney Spears and Creed, as well as artists from labels such as Warner Brothers, Universal, Hollywood. Sony, Mercury and TVT Records. Trademark worked with numerous recording companies to promote their artists across Detroit and the United States.
This promotion expanded into retail environments aimed at direct markets and expanded beyond music to include print magazines such as URB, shoe companies like Pony Shoes and consumer brands like Purina Beneful and Coca-Cola.
The focus of Trademark soon shifted, though, when the internet revolution began taking hold in the mid-1990s. The worlds of entertainment marketing, website design and graphic design were changing rapidly and it became obvious that Trademark was going to have to keep up with the new developments in order to thrive.
