While the term CAPTCHA (Completely Automated Public Turing Test to Tell Computers and Humans Apart) may not be well known, the function has been used by millions. The code made up of colors, lines, letters, and numbers that you have to squint your eyes to read and type in before you can access certain pages, is not just used to annoy users. CAPTCHA, while difficult to read, at times, protects websites and users from any potential Internet evil.
