When Do Websites Get Ranked?

A common question we are asked by clients is when a website will be ranked by Google, Yahoo! and others after a new design, redesign and launch? After launching a website that is SEO optimized for high search engine rankings, the next step may be the worst to endure.
For many of us in the online market, the hardest part of Search Engine Marketing is waiting for a new website to be ranked among the search engines. How long does it take for most search engines to list a new site?
When considering search engines Yahoo!, MSN, and Google, the answer varies between them. Typically, Yahoo! and MSN require about three weeks before a new site is listed; if the site is optimized properly, it is not very difficult to achieve top ten rankings in these search engines. Google, on the other hand, is a different story.
Google not only takes longer to add a new website to its index, but it has also been found to have filters for new websites. Such filters make it extremely difficult for a new site to achieve a top ten ranking. Though this task is not easy, it is definitely manageable. In order to achieve a high Google ranking for a new website, it is imperative that Google trusts the site.
In order to creep into the top ten on Google, you must apply the basic principles of search engine marketing. Consider what keywords you’re using; if they are competitive, general keywords, you might want to think about switching over to more specific, less used words to improve your rankings. Keywords of more than two words tend to be less competitive and therefore more beneficial to use. Also, if you are a new site, you must be sure to have many incoming relevant links. If you need assistance building relevant incoming links every month we have link building programs that can help you.
Although it is difficult to build trust and get high rankings as a new website, it is definitely an obtainable goal. When your site is properly search engine optimized with the right keywords and links, you are sure to achieve successful results. Though waiting for search engines to rank your site can sometimes be nerve-wracking, it is important to be patient and simply follow the right steps to effectively optimize your new website.
